Delete your account
You can have your Hobby Workshop account and its data deleted at any time. You do not have to give a reason.
From the app
Open the app, go to Profile, then Account, then Delete account. You will be asked to confirm. The request is queued immediately.
By email
Email info@hobbyworkshop.my from the address on your account, with the subject Delete my account. If you cannot use that address, tell us your registered phone number and we will verify you another way before deleting anything.
What is deleted
- Your name, email address, phone number and profile.
- Your vehicles and their details.
- Your messages, photographs and job history.
- For mechanics: identity and business documents, and trade certificates.
This happens within 30 days of the request, and usually within seven.
What we have to keep, and why
We cannot delete records the law requires us to hold. Invoices and payment records for completed jobs are kept for seven years to satisfy Malaysian tax requirements, and warranty records are kept until the warranty has expired so a claim can still be honoured. These are retained in a form separated from your profile and are not used to contact you.
Where a job involved another person — the mechanic who did the work, or the customer whose car it was — their copy of that record is theirs and is not removed by your deletion request.
Cancelling a request
Email us before the 30 days are up and we will stop it. After deletion has run, it cannot be undone.
